Peter Ferguson’s Bio

Peter Ferguson nicknamed "Visionary" by a mentor, lives by Maya Angelou's words and strives to thrive with passion and compassion. He's an empowerment specialist and practitioner still doing the work with a purpose to empower, educate, and engage. 

With over 25 years of experience in coordinating, facilitating, and consulting, Peter brings a unique blend of authenticity, knowledge, and humor to his work. He delivers practical takeaways on personal strengths, leadership, bias, diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessibility, making his expertise relevant to a wide range of audiences, from school staff and administration to scholars, non-profits, teams, C.E.O.s, educators, governmental and supplemental agencies, community members, and funders.

Peter Ferguson is the founder of Peter Ferguson B.H.S., L.L.C., and serves as the Coordinator for Culture, Inclusion, and Scholar Development for Lincoln Public Schools in Nebraska. He also hosts "Bigger Than the Score" on 93.7 The Ticket. His work has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Chancellors Fulfilling the Dream Award, and the N.A.A.C.P. Community Service Award. His contributions have been featured in the Heartland Emmy-nominated Lincoln Public Schools Documentary, "We Will Not Be Silent."

Ferguson is a connoisseur of gas station food and mocha drinks. He and his wife, Stephanie, are proud parents to their daughter Jaden.

His success is known, recognized, and respected, with over 25 years of experience coordinating, facilitating, programming, creating, and consulting, with a foundational commitment to educating, empowering, and engaging others. A graduate of Hastings College (Hastings, NE) with a degree in English and Communication Arts, he was a scholar-athlete. He began his career at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lincoln; was a nonprofit executive at Leadership Lincoln, Inc.; for 26 years has been the adult advisor for the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Rally; hosts 93.7 The Ticket "Bigger Than the Score;" is the Coordinator of Culture, Inclusion and Scholar Development for Lincoln Public Schools, and is the founder and Chief Belief Officer of Peter Ferguson B.H.S., L.L.C.

Ferguson is a recipient of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Chancellors Fulfilling the Dream Award, N.A.A.C.P. Community Service Award; Y.W.C.A. Mentors and Allies Award, he continues to honor his mother, a 40-year educator, as a champion in the fight against Alzheimer's. In addition, his work is featured in the Heartland Emmy-nominated Lincoln Public Schools Documentary, We Will Not Be Silent.
